Henna is some of the coolest stuff that I have ever used. Henna is a plant, and when crushed and mixed with black tea or coffee, makes a mud colored paste that you put anywhere that is desired. You let it soak into your skin (the pictures show the paste on my hand still) and after about 30 - 45 min, after it's cracked, you just clean it off and you have a henna tattoo. It's just like any other temporary tattoo, just more organic.
For the best result for the henna to turn out right you may want to create a mixture of lemon juice and sugar or you can purchase the henna oil. You'll want to apply this oil about every five minutes; just before it cracks.
Natural henna is super healthy for your skin. It softens and smells darn right lovely. ^ ^
You can base designs off of anything that you can draw. Most hennas come pre-mixed in tubes that you can purchase at Indian food markets or online.
You never want to purchase henna that claims to look like a real tattoo. This type has a chemical called PPD that is poisonous and extremely toxic. The point of henna is to get an all natural temporary tattoo, not to look like you've gotten a real tattoo.
